What will I learn during the course?

The aim of the Master program for information management is to deepen the understanding of certain aspects of the Bachelor program, and to offer further possibilities of specialization. Master students specialize in a second area of business administration and expand their knowledge in an in-depth focus on the area of computer science and information management.

The Master program includes an obligatory practical semester working with a company for a minimum of one semester, and also provides extra practical experience through practical software development training. This guarantees work experience of practical relevance for the move to professional life after studying.

 

What are my career options after finishing the Master studies?

Career possibilities for graduates range from leadership responsibilities in middle and upper management of private companies, public service organizations and public undertakings and administrative departments to cooperation with university and extramural research institutions. The employment spectrum of graduates of Information Management at Klagenfurt is highly diverse. Fields of application include, among others, controlling, finance, production and sales management, in addition to IT services and software production. Due to the extreme importance of information in globalized economies, the substantiated education in information management is an outstanding basis for present and future job markets.

Typical fields of work include: software development with a focus on various areas (web applications, operational applications, database applications etc.); multimedia and network support; system security; e-business.
